Hayley C. Schapiro, LCSW

Clinical Director, Social Sense Palm Beach: Therapy for Adults, Couples, Parents, Teens, and Children

Founder, South Florida Mental Health Organization and Professional Journal for Mental Health Providers

Hayley Schapiro, LCSW, specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxious feelings, burnout, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and the long-term impacts of neglecting self-care. She creates a safe, encouraging space where clients can reflect, feel vulnerable, gain clarity, ask difficult questions, and work toward meaningful goals. Sessions may include moments of laughter, tears, emotional breakthroughs, and quiet reflection—but clients consistently report feeling deeply supported and understood, even when exploring complex or challenging topics.

Therapeutic Approach

Hayley’s work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with an emphasis on analyzing behavior patterns, developing coping skills, and reframing thoughts and emotions. Her practice is built on four cornerstones: empathy, compassion, tough questions, and humor. She especially enjoys working with high-achieving individuals, parents, caregivers, and professionals who often feel they have little time to care for themselves.

Leadership & Advocacy

Beyond her clinical practice, Hayley is the founder and manager of the South Florida Mental Health Organization, an online directory and professional journal that connects clients with trusted mental health providers through a curated matching process.

Professional Experience

Earlier in her career, Hayley worked across diverse community-based settings including hospitals, nonprofits, higher education, and schools where she provided individual counseling, crisis intervention, program development, family and couples therapy. She chaired Student Success Team, served in admissions and administration at a top private school, and secured grant funding for nonprofit initiatives. Additionally, her volunteer and philanthropy work has been recognized for contributions to education, youth services, and clinical research.

Training & Teaching

Hayley trained at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. She also served as a visiting adjunct professor at Columbia University Teachers College, sharing her passion for her work and expertise with the next generation of mental health professionals.
